This collection of aerial photographs was taken from a light aircraft flying over Strangford Lough, the Lecale coastline, and Newcastle in County Down. The images offer a unique perspective of the landscape, capturing the intricate shoreline, patchwork fields, and dramatic meeting of land and sea from above. Photographic conditions were far from ideal, as the images were taken from the rear of the aircraft through thick, stained windows, presenting a considerable technical challenge. Despite these limitations, the flight provided an exhilarating experience and a rare opportunity to photograph this remarkable landscape from the air. Special thanks to Helyn and Fergus for the invitation and unforgettable flight.
